Setting Up the Battle
- Each player receives a fresh graph paper board and a set of ship cut‑outs.
- Using a pencil, the player places each ship on the grid, aligning the squares with the appropriate coordinates. Ships may be positioned horizontally (along a constant y‑value) or vertically (along a constant x‑value), but they cannot overlap.
- When both players have hidden their ships, they exchange a copy of their board so each can see the opponent’s grid without the ship locations.
How to Play
The game proceeds in alternating turns. On a turn, a player calls out an ordered pair, such as (4, 7). The opponent checks that coordinate on their hidden board and announces “hit” if a ship occupies the square or “miss” if it does not.
