Follow the guide below and you’ll be ready to face the Ender Dragon with the best protection available.

Why Choose Netherite?

Netherite offers several advantages over Diamond:

These benefits make Netherite the top choice for PvP, exploration, and boss fights.

Step 1 – Gather Ancient Debris

Ancient Debris is the only source of Netherite. To find it efficiently:

  1. Enter the Nether at Y‑level 15 – 30; the highest concentration appears around Y‑15.
  2. Use a diamond or netherite pickaxe with the Fortune III enchantment to increase drop rates.
  3. Mine in a branch pattern: create a 2‑block wide tunnel and dig side branches every 3 blocks.
  4. Bring a Bedrock Breaker or Blast Mining setup if you prefer rapid extraction.

Expect to collect 10‑15 blocks of Ancient Debris per hour in a well‑optimized nether base.

Step 2 – Smelt to Netherite Scrap

Place the Ancient Debris in a furnace, blast furnace, or smoker. Each block yields one Netherite Scrap. To speed up the process, use a blast furnace with a fuel source such as blaze rods.

Example smelting setup:

Step 3 – Craft Netherite Ingots

Combine the scraps with gold ingots in a crafting table:

  1. Gather 4 Netherite Scraps and 4 Gold Ingots.
  2. Open the 3×3 crafting grid.
  3. Place the items in any arrangement; the result is a Netherite Ingot.

Remember: you need one Netherite Ingot for each piece of gear you want to upgrade.

Step 4 – Upgrade Diamond Gear with a Smithing Table
