How To Make Splash Potion Of Weakness in Minecraft

Hello and Welcome back to our Minecraft crafting guide series. Today we're going to show you the step‑by‑step process for brewing a Splash Potion of Weakness. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced alchemist, this guide covers everything you need to know, from gathering ingredients to perfecting the final splash effect.

What Is a Splash Potion of Weakness?

A Splash Potion of Weakness is a throwable brew that temporarily reduces the attack strength of mobs and players. It’s especially useful in PvP battles, mob farms, and when you need to tame animals safely. The potion applies the Weakness status effect for 1 minute (or 2 minutes at level II), making enemies deal less damage while you gain a strategic advantage.

Materials Needed

Before you start brewing, collect the following items. All ingredients can be found in the Overworld or crafted using basic resources.

Make sure you have a Brewing Stand ready, as well as enough inventory space to store the finished potions.

Step‑By‑Step Brewing Process

  1. Set Up the Brewing Stand

Place Blaze Powder in the fuel slot of the brewing stand. This will keep the stand active throughout the brewing process.

  2. Add Water Bottles

Place three Water Bottles in the three lower slots. These will become the base for your potion.

  3. Insert Nether Wart

Put Nether Wart in the top slot. After a short brewing cycle, the water bottles will turn into Awkward Potions, the neutral starting point for all advanced brews.

  4. Add Fermented Spider Eye

Replace the Nether Wart with a Fermented Spider Eye. Brew again, and the Awkward Potions will transform into Potion of Weakness (Regular). This potion lasts 1 minute at level I.

  5. Upgrade to Level II (Optional)

If you want a longer duration, add Redstone dust after the Fermented Spider Eye step. Brewing with Redstone
