Early Years and First Professional Steps

Suárez began his senior career with Club Nacional de Football in 2005, breaking onto the scene with a flair for the dramatic. After a brief loan to Groningen in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he added another two goals, the Uruguayan forward attracted attention from larger European clubs.

Rise in Europe – Ajax and Liverpool

In 2007 Suárez signed for Ajax, where his reputation exploded. The Dutch powerhouse provided the platform for a prolific spell: 11 goals in his debut season, followed by a total of 111 goals in 159 appearances across all competitions.
