Turkish Airlines A350 Business Class Review – A Detailed Look at Comfort, Service, and Style
Hi! We're Alice and Jan, and today we're sharing our amazing experience flying Turkish Airlines’ brand‑new Airbus A350 in Business Class. After a 17‑hour journey from Riga to New York with a short stop in Istanbul, we’ve gathered all the details that matter to frequent travelers: seat design, cabin ambience, dining, entertainment, and the little extras that turn a good flight into a great one.
Why the A350 Matters for Turkish Airlines
The A350 is the latest addition to Turkish Airlines’ long‑haul fleet, replacing older Boeing 777s and Airbus 330s. With its wider fuselage and quieter cabin, the aircraft promises a smoother ride on routes that cross multiple time zones. Turkish Airlines markets the aircraft as “the new standard of comfort,” and our flight gave us a chance to test that claim.
Cabin Design and Atmosphere
From the moment we stepped onto the A350, the cabin felt airy. The ceiling height is higher than on most wide‑body jets, and the LED lighting system adapts to the time of day, helping passengers adjust to jet lag. The colour palette is a sophisticated mix of muted blues and warm neutrals, creating a calm environment that feels more like a lounge than an aircraft.
- Spaciousness: The Business Class cabin is configured in a 1‑2‑1 layout, giving every passenger direct aisle access. This eliminates the need to climb over a neighbour to reach the aisle, a common complaint on older business cabins.
- Privacy: Each seat features a sliding door that can be closed for a private “suite” feeling. While the doors are not fully enclosed, they provide enough separation for work or rest.
- Noise Reduction: The A350’s composite structure cuts external noise by up to 30 percent, making conversations and the in‑flight entertainment system easier to enjoy.
Seat Comfort and Features
The Business Class seat on the A350 is a fully flat “Cedar” design, which we found to be both plush and supportive. The seat width is 20.5 inches, and the total length when flat reaches 78 inches, providing ample space for tall travellers.
- Adjustable Controls: The seat includes a touch‑panel for adjusting lumbar support, headrest position, and massage settings. The massage function offers three intensity levels, perfect for relieving muscle tension after a long day.
- Storage Solutions: A dedicated side pocket, a large overhead bin, and a built‑in USB‑C port keep your devices charged and organized.
- Bed‑like Experience: The mattress‑like surface, combined with a plush duvet and pillow, turned the cabin into a comfortable sleeping area. We both slept through the night without waking up for the usual turbulence that can affect other aircraft.
